Notes - When his wife, Lewry Grigsby, died on the trip west, a young orphaned girl with the wagon train moved into the Cooper wagon to care for the children. She was Tilithy Yates who was born in Tennessee, in 1833. She was the sister of Isabel Yates who had also been with the train and is said to have had two children by Captain John Grigsby. Tilithy and Thomas Cooper were married in Napa County, CA, Oct 24, 1852.
