- Luella Derr

Luella Derr, a lifelong resident of Yolo County, died at Woodland Memorial Hospital, at age 87.
Born to a pioneer Yolo County family, Mrs. Derr was the only child of the late Walter H. Archer of Madison and Amy Chinn Archer of Capay. She attended school in Madison and Esparto, graduating from Esparto High School in 1938. While in high school, she met her future husband, Wilbert H. "Bill" Derr, a native of Woodland. They were married in 1941, a marriage that would last until Bill's death in 1981.
Luella retired in 1978 after working 17 years at the Yolo County Assessor's Office. She volunteered at the Yolo County Museum, was an original member of the Woodland Opera House Guild, a member of United Methodist Church, and for many years a member of the Delta Theta Tau Society.
Mrs. Derr is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and John Klobas of Sebastopol; and granddaughters, Sarah Klobas of San Francisco, and Natasha Klobas of Winters. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill, and son, Jim.
The family requests donations in her memory be made to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund, 14 Pennsylvania Plaza, Suite 1400, New York, NY 10122.
Services: A funeral service is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11, at Kraft Bros. Chapel, 175 Second St., Woodland. A reception will follow immediately at the United methodist Church Reception Hall, 212 Second St., Woodland. Kraft Bros. Funeral Directors of Woodland, is assisting the family with arrangements.
