Succumbs W. O. Daniels who for many years was connected with the circulation department of the Erie Times, died in his home 3414 Elliot rd., early Monday morning. Mr. Daniels at one time was a candidte for the office of county coroner.
ILLNESS FATAL TO W. O. DANIELS AT AGE OF 74
Times Employee Dies on Monday; was widely known
W. O, Daniels, 74, of 3414 Eliot rd., died early Monday morning in his home after an extended illness. Mr. Daniels, until forced to retire because of illness a year ago, had served as suburban circulation manager of the Erie Daily Times.
The decedent was born in Crawford county but had spent the past 35 years in this city. He was widely known here and throughout Erie and Crawford counties. For a period of more than 30 years he had been an employee of the Times.
Mr. Daniels was an active and a prominent member of the Odd Fellow organization here and was affiliated with Lake Shore lodge and Lake Erie Encampment.
At one time, the decedent had been a candidate for the office of coroner of Erie county.
He leaves his wife, Patience Daniels; a son, T. S. Daniels of this city; Three daughters, Mrs. C. M. Spiller, Mrs. Elmer Wolf, also of Erie, and Mrs. H. A. Maxham of Detroit, Mich., 14 grandchildren; a brother, L. E. Daniels of Erie, and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Rhodes of Pasadena, Ca.
Private funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in his lare home and will be conducted by the Odd Fellows. Interment will follow in North East cemetery with members of the Odd Fellows serving as pall bearers.

Ex-Employee of Times Buried Wednesday
With relatives and intimate friends in attendance, funeral services for W. O. Daniels, 74, a former employee of the Erie Daily Times, were held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, in his home 3414 Eliot rd.. the Rev. E. M. Gearhart, pastor of Luther Memorial church officiating.
Six members of the Odd Fellow organization, W. E. Bowdish, Charles Storch, and Elmer Brown of Lake Shore lodge; Harvey Frick, Fred Landon and Frank Hollenbeck of Lake Erie Encampment served as pall bearers.
Interment was in the family lot in North East cemetery where final services were conducted by the Odd Fellows.
Mr. Daniels was an active member of the I. O. O. F. organization here and was prominent in the affairs of the Lake Shore lodge and Lake Erie Encampment.
Mr. Daniels’s death occurred Monday morning following an extended illness. Until a year ago he had served as suburban circulation manager of the Times. He was forced to give up his work at that time because of ill health.
He leaves his wife; a son, T. S. Daniels of this city; and three daughters, Mrs. C. M. Spiller, Mrs. Elmer Wolf, both of Erie, and Mrs. H. Z. Maxham of Detroit, Mich.
