Stephen Burger
Stephen Burger and his wife Sophia Becker emigrated from New York State to Canada in 1805 with 2 children (John and David), accompanied by Sophia's sister Elizabeth and her husband Frederick (not Jeremiah) Fick. They leased land from the Crown, 300 acres of lot 7 Concession B in Walsingharn Twp, Norfolk County. In 1819, there is a notice on file that Stephen and Sophia had not paid their rent from Sept 29, 1818 to Mar 24, 1819. Sophia died in childbirth when Aaron was born. Apparently, after Sophia died her younger children were split up. Stephen then remarried, this time to Elizabeth Hollowood, the sister of his daughter-in-law Rachel. They had at least three children together
