Isabella County Probate Records: The petition of Elizabeth Brown, widow of William Sly, late of said county, deceased, respectfully showeth that on or about the first day of January 1863, the said William Sly died leaving goods and clothing, rights, credits and real estate in the county, aforesaid, and that to the best of the knowledge and belief of your petitioner, no last will and testament was left by the said William Sly, deceased. That the deceased has left a widow, Elizabeth Brown, your petitioner, age 37 years and six children; William age 18, Lester age 15, Alvorus(?) Loren, Daniel age 12, George age 9 and Hattie age 5/ and that the deceased was at his death an inhabitant of said county. Your petitioner therefore prays that letters of administration be granted on the estate of the said William Sly and that Philander Harness may be appointed administrater.

Obit: Mrs. Hedican, a widow lady, died Saturday last at her old pioneer home near the north shore of Silver Lake. Her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lemuel Potter, have made her home pleasant and given her the tenderest care in her declining years. She diedin Green Oak Twp, Feb 16, 1889. Mrs. Hedican was 82 years old. Deceased was a pioneer of Livingston County, Michigan, a highly respected neighbor and beloved by all that knew her. She leaves three children and many warm friends to mourn her loss. (sent to me by Elaine Johnston)

2117 Obit of George Gilchrist: the subject of this sketch was born in Bloomfield, Oakland County, Michigan, 10 Jan 1844, bieng the 4th child of Thomas and Nancy Gilchrist. Was married to Miss Mary Jack of Orchard Lake, 22 Oct 1873. Located after marriage in Commerce twp., last of the Village in the Union school district. After residing there about 25 years, sold the farm and moved to Birmingham, Michigan. In 1899 bought a farm west of Four Towns. Died of disease at the latter place, 17 May 1901. Mr. Tutt, a farmer and plasterer's helper for the University of Missouri, was born Oct 1, 1900, to Charles Phillip and Mary Lavinia Grantham Tutt. He married Mary Virginia Gander Jan 22, 1940, in Bunceton. She survives. He was a member of the Huntsdale Baptist Church and the Missouri Farmers Association.
Other survivors are three sons, Georg Tutt of Clark, Charles Tutt of St. Louis and Sam Tutt of Windsor, S.C.; a daughter, Mary Galbraith of St. Louis; and 11 grandchildren."

2148 On 27 Feb. 1735/6 his father conveyed to him 80 acres of his homestead farm, that lay in that part of Westerly afterwards incorporated as Charlestown (Westerly Land Evidence, vol. 6, p. 368). On 3 Mar 1735/6 he was admitted a freeman at Westerly. On 5 June 1736 his earmark was recorded (Westerly Town Meeting, vol. 1 p. 126). On 25 June 1756 he bought land in Charlestown of Benjamin Hoxie (Charlestown Land Evidence, vol. 1, p. 204). In August 1764 he was excused from jury duty. His share of a marsh left to him and his brothers Peter, George, and Nathan by their father's will is shown on a plot of the division made 18 Sept. 1764

Administration on his estate was granted to his widow, Elizabeth, by the Charlestown Town Council, on 2 July 1770 (Charlestown Town Council Records, vol. 2, page not numbered.

Kellam's Choice
On December 15, 1774, Isaac Kellam Sr. sold to his son William Kellam II 150 acres of Kellam's Choice, which "had fallen to me by death of my brothers William I & Joshua Kellam. Additionally in 1739, John Kellam III willed to sons William Kellam I and Joshua Kellam tract "Addition" formerly patented in 1726 by John Kellam for 100 a. in Coulbourne district #6. On Jan 23, 1750, Joshua Kellam II, son of Joshua Kellam I, with his wife Elizabeth Kellam, sold to Isaac Kellam Sr. 50 a. of Kellam's Choice & Addition.
On Jan. 23, 1750, Isaac Kellam Sr., sold 300 a. of Kellam's Choice to Thomas Martin, land lying on n.w. side of Pokomoke River being part of John Kellam II's (the Elder) patent given by his will to his son John Kellam III, (the Younger). John Kellam III by his last will on March 2, 1739, gave to his son Isaac Kellam Sr., this same tract. Isaac Kellam Sr. sold to Thomas Martin a tract which lay below the old road on the s.w. side of James Martin's plantation near land of Elisha Purnell. Isaac Kellam Sr.'s will dated Feb. 7, 1776, was probated July 19, 1780 in Worcester, Co, Md., named sons William Kellam II and Isaac Kellam Jr., and daughters Rachel Caudry, Leah Payne, Charity, Nancy, Molly, Esther & Sarah Kellam. His wife, Jemima Kellam, was named executrix.
